About Michael Steinman
I'm a wildlife photographer, field naturalist, and the founder and web developer of EcoNaturalist.com, a website dedicated to showcasing ecolodges and promoting ecotourism to help make conservation economically viable.
My academic background is in physics and mathematics, but I've always been a wildlife enthusiast, wildlife photographer, and naturalist at heart. I specialize in herping (searching for reptiles and amphibians) but enjoy all wildlife photography, immersive nature photography, and ecotourism storytelling.
All content on this site — from species profiles to field reports — is created by me based on first-hand research, field observation, and consultation with local guides and conservationists. I have personally visited all ecolodges featured on this website to ensure accuracy. I am dedicated to discovering, curating, and sharing the world's best ecolodges and private wildlife reserves.
